Position:  Director, Financial Operations

Key aspects of the role include:

      Assists in preparing and executing the financial strategy that supports the health systems business plans; assist in providing the timely, accurate, and complete communication of the company’s strategy, performance, and relative value to various stakeholders (board, corporate officers, facility executive team, hospital department leaders, etc.)

      Provides input and financial leadership to the health system and brings advice and perspective to management on all significant business decisions.

      Serves as a strategic partner to the BSA Executive Team.

      Drives results on significant initiatives across the business.

      Provide strong leadership to the Finance team. Coaches and develops high-performing teams. Ensures alignment and a strong working relationship with the operations team. Maintains a culture that emphasizes responsiveness, accountability, and transparency.

      Provides accurate and timely reporting and analytics. Ensures there is integrity in projections and that they are grounded in reasonable, logical assumptions. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.

Key Accountabilities

Some of the more specific activities and responsibilities include:

      Works with the BSA Executive Team and enterprise leaders on: operating and capital budgets for the health system

      Leads the month-end and quarter-end financial close activities

      Collaborates with finance service line leaders (i.e. revenue cycle, supply chain, contracting and payer relations, and financial and accounting services) on establishing service line expectations and coordinating service line activities

      Assists site leadership in weekly strategic initiatives serving as a key partner to the executive team

      Leads the Finance Team engagement on the system implementation as key milestones and target dates are met

      Collaborates across organization to help facilitate activities around BSA acquisitions

      Responsible for driving performance improvement within the health system

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience with a demonstrated record of providing financial and business leadership.  Five (5) years of experience in healthcare finance/accounting is preferred with good knowledge of accounting theory, staffing management including productivity development, reimbursement principles, and decision support understanding.  The ideal candidate will be a highly intelligent self-starter with strong influencing and collaboration skills, who is comfortable bringing their external experience and new ideas to an organization.  He/She must have the business savvy and interpersonal skills to function effectively in the distributed decision making environment of a highly matrixed organization.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration is required. CPA or Master’s in business or healthcare administration is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of finance experience; experience working with Physician Leaders is preferred, hospital experience is preferred.
