Accountant II, FT Days

Shift: Day
Schedule: Full - Time Regular

Responsible for preparing and analyzing general ledger detail information as well as related financial and statistical information.  Will be expected to develop thorough knowledge of automated financial, budgeting and reporting systems in order to analyze and translate this information into accurate and meaningful results. This position will maintain related financial and statistical records of BSA Health System. Job will also include: Review and reconcile all accounts as assigned, analyze variances and provide variance analysis on a monthly basis. Participate in end-of-month and end-of-year close processes.  Assist as necessary with the preparation of information that may be needed for annual budget and work closely with Accounting Manager and audit staff to facilitate a productive and smooth audit process. The budget process will be a significant job duty of this role reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis/Budget & Statistics. *This is not intended to be a comprehensive listing, but rather to give an overall example of job duties to be performed.*

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  Texas CPA License preferred 

  Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
5+ years of experience in complex accounting preferred
1 year of experience in healthcare finance preferred
Good organizational and follow-through skills 
Must have the ability to multi-task
Advanced MS Excel skills and other personal computer skills 
Ability to learn new accounting system applications
Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner in order to promote stability and harmony in the department
Good interpersonal and customer service skills 
Must exhibit desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
