Job Summary :
The Shift Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who is accountable for coordination of all care for a specific patient population on an assigned shift, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the policies and procedures of BSA. The Shift Supervisor also has managerial responsibilities including, but not limited to, staffing, scheduling, employment development, and budget and performance improvement activities. The 3C Womens GYN Medical Surgical unit cares for female surgical patients, bariatric patients along with female medical patients.


Licenses and Certifications :
Current Texas RN license
CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
Previous Medical Surgical staff nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred
Leadership and management skills in a healthcare environment
Broad knowledge base of the labor process, assisting with the evaluation process, critical thinking and making decisions for patient car
Assess, plan, evaluates, documents the total nursing process
Flexible, organized, self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills
Computer skills necessary; EPIC EMR documentation
Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
Ability to delegate and give clear instructions to others
Ability to function under stressful situations
Ability to foster a positive teamwork environment
Clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Compassionate customer service skills
